Things are going good. We are still in the process of trying to find a house. Our lease is up at the end of May so we don’t have much time. I am still hoping and praying that we get “the house” I want but I’m not stressing myself over it. When you find the right house you know it. My MIL asked me what was so special about this house and I said that its the type of house that we wouldn’t grow out of. It’s got plenty of room to grow (basement) and with three boys we need a good amount of space for them to grow up in. Plus I can see myself in this house for years to come. It feels right.
At this point I am so sick of looking online at other people’s homes. Seriously, have you ever just looked at listings and wondered who decorated their homes? Some of the “custom paint” jobs in these houses are so hideous. When your selling a house with bright sea foam green rooms, “custom paint” shouldn’t be a selling point. If anything all I can do is look at these homes and think of all the primer and work it’s going to take to cover up the paint. I also wish people would stage their homes (and put things in storage) so you can look past all their furniture and shelves and STUFF and see the home for what it is.
When we listed our home in Arizona we actually painted the house in natural neutrals and staged the house. Even in this economy we sold to the first people who saw the house for asking price! Same with the house in Illinois. It really makes a difference if your trying to sell. Now that we are on this end of the process it’s frustrating to see so many sellers put little effort into the process. Their loss I guess.
Other than that all is well. The boys are back in school after a very long two week Spring break. Thank GOD! My new job is going great. I couldn’t ask for a more perfect job at this point in time with school, kids, starting my own business and having a life. Easter was nice. We went to a local park on the Saturday before for an Easter Egg hunt and the boys had a lot of fun and got tons of eggs. Easter was spent at home with three maniacs high on too much sugar. And that’s really about it. I will end this post with a few pictures!
